DAVAOEÑOS MOB AQUINO-ROXAS, LAUNCH MOVEMENT FOR 2010

In their first sortie after declaring their partnership, Davaoeños mobbed Liberal Senators Noynoy Aquino and Mar Roxas as they launched a movement to support their candidacy for the 2010 presidential elections.

Aquino and Roxas arrived in Davao City on Friday to start their first sortie in Mindanao, where they will visit Davao City, Davao del Norte, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental and Lanao del Norte.

“Ang sarap ng pakiramdam sa pagdalaw namin dito sa inyo ngayon,” Aquino declared to the standing-room-only crowd during the launching of the Noynoy-Mar Movement in the University of Mindanao Gym in Tagum City. 

“Yung iba ay sa pera nakasandal, pero tayo ay nakasandal sa tao. Kaya mas matibay ang sinasandalan natin,” Aquino added.

“Talagang makikita na ang labang ito ay higit pa sa amin ni Noynoy. Tungkol ito sa kauhawan ng taumbayan para sa pagbabago. At kitang-kita sa mga taga-Davao, uhaw na uhaw sila!” Roxas said..

En route from the Davao International Airport to Tagum City, locals, including wet market vendors and workers, warmly welcomed the Liberal tandem’s convoy. More supporters gathered around Aquino and Roxas as they visited the Davao del Norte provincial capitol for a courtesy call with Governor Rodolfo del Rosario.

The tandem then proceeded to the University of Mindanao Gym for the launching of the Noynoy-Mar Movement, which was attended by around 5,000 supporters. Aquino and Roxas afterwards proceeded back to Davao City to attend a forum organized by supporters in Ateneo de Davao University.
